Mission: BGECentral
To create a self moderated website that provides through two pathways of delivering four services.
Pathway 1. Personaly obtained and created models. These are 3d assets/UniHuman morphs/Tutorials that have either been created by myself or obtained by either purchase or donation from 3d artists. Some money collected from ad support (Using Google adsense) will go towards commisioning models or purchasing models for the public domain as well as the provision of funds for competition (Note this is not a request to click ad links, ads should only be clicked on if they genuinely interest you).
Pathway 2. Models sent in to the website's “donate” web address. This is a web address where users send their own work so it can be added to the site. Recieved 3d models will have the following set of guidelines:
Be Low Poly, optimised and game ready
Be UV unwraped and have at least one useable texture
Contain no other 3D models/ excess data
Include a render of the model sized RESX by RESY in .jpeg or .png format
Services:
UniHuman: A 3d, rigged and UV unwraped human model which uses a variety of sliders to enable the user to adapt the model's height, weight, gender, facial features as well as some fantasy morphs that can be used to create different species.
3D models: A collection of generic low poly models which are UV mapped and given a few standard textures. There will be some types of models which will have optional game logic built in. Examples of this are
Background animals such as butterflys, birds, mice and rats
Plant's and grasses that sway in the breese
A car with built in destruction & driving physics
Proximity doors
Switches of different types
Tutorials: A collection of tutorials that explain principals of game creation using blender. They will be of a standard format and the site moderator will have the final edit before publishing. Tutorials will be kept up to date with the game engine. When a tutorial becomes out-dated it will be mentiond at the start and work on a new, updated version will commense. All older versions of tutorials will be maintained offline and will be made available on request.
Forum: A forum will be available to members to discuss different aspects of the game engine, ask for help, showcase games and projects in development as well as discuss general topics.
